Supplementation
It is very difficult to get the right amount of nutrients to meet our optimal needs through whole food alone. Supplementation is intended to fill the known and unknown gaps in your whole food nutrition plan, to ensure optimal functioning of your body. They aren't mandatory to see results, but they can help tremendously when combined with proper diet and exercise.

Supplements are only as good as the quality of their ingredients, dosaging and processing methods (how they're made).

That's exactly why I personally use and recommend 1st Phorm.
Not only is 1st Phorm a highly reputable and trustworthy sports nutrition company that places quality above all in their list of priorities, but they're a family of real, genuine people with a mission of making the world a better place. If you're like me & believe in voting with your dollars, 1P is a team worth supporting.

The power combo of foundational health. Each of these products can be purchased individually as needed or bundled in this stack.
Complete daily micronutrient product containing 6 foundational products in each convenient, cost-effective pack. We get a majority of our micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) through consuming 5-8 servings of a of fresh produce every day, which most people struggle to do. If the calories we eat serve as the gas in the tank, our micros serve as the engine oil ensuring that all systems function optimally and efficiently. Micros are also key in natural cellular energy production, immune health, cognitive health etc.
High EPA/DHA Omega-3 Fish Oil - helpful for folks who struggle to consume the recommended 3-5 servings of cold water, wild caught fatty fish weekly. This is where we get Omega-3 fatty acids from which are key in reducing inflammation and stress in the body, improving recovery. Also aids cognitive and cardiovascular health.
High quality greens supplement with glycemic balance, probiotic, and digestive enzyme blends to aid in improving and maintaining optimal gut health. Many people fall short of consuming the dark leafy greens, fermented foods, and enzyme rich foods to naturally support optimal gut health, which is key for our ability to properly break down and absorb the food we eat. If our digestive health is lacking, not only are we less likely to get full nutrition and energy from the foods we eat, but our immune health suffers too, because a huge percentage of our immune system comes from our gut!
Dynamic Duo of optimal post-workout, post-ride, post-race recovery.
When we workout or train, we are doing two things:
1. Breaking down our muscle tissue
2. Depleting glycogen (stored glucose in our muscle and liver)

After we finish the workout (or long ride, or intense race), the more quickly we can provide the right nutrients to kick start recovery and muscle tissue repair, the better we will feel, the less sore we will be, and the better results we will see overtime from the hard work we're putting in. SPEED is the name of the game post-workout, so this is the only time I would argue that a supplement stack is more beneficial than whole food, simply due to speed of digestion and absorption. When we eat a whole food meal right after a workout or race, it takes hours to break down and provide those nutrients to your tissues, delaying repair and recovery.
If you utilize a simple, high-glycemic carb and a low-temperature processed, hydrolyzed whey protein isolate together in cold water only, we can absorb those nutrients in a fraction of the time, get in the recovery state faster, spend more time there, and as a result build more muscle and burn more fat. This leads to improved recovery, improved performance and strength, and improved body-composition and physique. #teamrootbeerfloat

Unlike Phormula-1, Level-1 is a meal replacement style protein. Called "sustained assimilating" because it digests more slowly, in a way that more closely mimics whole food. This is a great solution if you're someone who struggles to hit your protein intake goal through whole food alone each day, or if you need convenience!

The options are endless when it comes to creative ways you can use Level-1:
you can make high-protein coffee, yogurt parfaits, overnight oats, pancakes, waffles, cereal, muffins, smoothies, ice cream, or just mix it in a shake with water or milk!

AND, because 1st Phorm protein is always low temperature processed and cross flow microfiltered (manufactured to maintain quality and integrity of the protein), this means no digestive distress, gas and bloating like most protein powders tend to cause. It also means it tastes phenomenal, no chalky gritty after taste, and it mixes so creamy and smooth. Plus, because the protein is not denatured in manufacturing, your body is better able to recognize, absorb, and fully utilize it to optimize your lean muscle tissue, which is why you're buying it!
Money well spent. WIN WIN WIN.

Optimal long-lasting endurance depends heavily on having the right fuels in our system.
Using a high quality sports drink is a great solution to ensure that your performance stays as optimal as possible during long, intense endurance sessions like a several hour training day at the track or a long race (multiple hours).

Intra-Formance not only contains electrolytes to replenish important minerals lost through sweat, helping to maintain function of our muscles and nerves, but it also contains carbohydrates and amino acids for a more well rounded endurance blend.
Carbohydrates (sugars) are needed to maintain energy and stable blood sugar levels which can become depleted, and a complete amino acid profile helps to protect our lean muscle from excessive break down during long periods of training.

My favorite flavor is Strawberry Lemonade! I mix 1 scoop in cold water for a mid-day pick me up in 80 degree weather at the track, and I mix 1 scoop into a full hydration pack of water during races so I can continue to push just as hard in the second hour as I do the first!

If you're in need of some high-quality electrolytes without the carbohydrates and amino acids, give our Hydration Sticks a try! These little packets can be easily packed with you and poured into a water bottle on the go at the track to keep you optimally hydrated.

Sometimes, depending on the intensity of your training or the climate you're in, water alone just doesn't cut it for optimal hydration. We lose important electrolytes when we sweat that play huge roles in our cellular fluid balance, nerve and muscle function, nutrient transport in and out of our cells, and more! And with the gear we're bundled up in, with limited airflow to our skin, us riders typically sweat A LOT. It's important to replenish these things in order to ensure optimal function, improve performance, and reduce the potential for muscle cramping.

Our hydration sticks include Vitamin C, Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc, Chloride, Sodium and Potassium, and is sweetened with Monk Fruit Extract. Avoid those high sugar sports drinks from the gas station and take your hydration and performance to the next level with these sticks!
